WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN
When I started my Steem adventure I made my account a vote giveaway blog. I gave away a few votes a day and used the rest to power up my account. Things were going better than I expected and my little give away was growing fast so I bought more steem.
It started growing even faster and Steem jumped from $3 USD to $4 USD while my wife and I were on vacation :) My account value was nearing $40,000 and I was feeling pretty good about super sizing my give away. I made the decision to go a little bit bigger and buy $300,000 worth of Steem when we got back from vacation. I was also going to start a Youtube channel and start advertising (any third party ads equals free advertising for Steem btw).
A TALE GONE WRONG
Then with my vote value starting to get juicy I got hit by the down voting account known as Steem Cleaners for copy pasting my title! After going back and forth with them I began to see several issues with how Steem was managed and run by Steemit Inc. or more affectionately referred to as Stinc :) So I decided to hold off on the purchase and see how things played out .....
What I found out was that Steem Cleaners abuse was substantial and over 2,500 dolphin sized accounts had been targeted and taken down (that was back then I am sure its a much larger number now) ..... Not only that but it was a tone deaf Steemit Inc. that delegated them all of their down voting power, without any supervision no less!!!
I am not a rocket scientist but even I could see trouble on the horizon. It turns out that rabbit hole is pretty deep because Steem is now worth $0.15 AND FALLING.
So what does the Stinc brain trust do? Add a MASSIVE amount of FREE down votes to the system! You can't make this shit up.
MY PLAN
I once offered to help Steemit Inc. get the value of there token up because I see great potential in Steem. However they never followed up with me and even dodged a planed "open" Youtube event to avoid mine and others constructive but critical views.
Since that time Stinc has gone from an $800,000,000 + fast growing company to well, dog shit (a few mil and dropping fast).
Someone asked me a few posts ago why I don't buy up a large Steem stake and drive the value higher.
That is one option I have open to me. Once Steem is in the $0.02 - $0.03 range that same $300,000 investment will make it worth my time to build Steem up from the ashes of the poor management it has suffered under for so long.
