Hi gang, it's been awful news with such a drop in steem dollars💸
It was at average around 6 to 7 euros just last week whereas now only around 3. Although since yesterday it only seems to be dropping and barely increasing, it is important to remember that we are still creating real money online writing content on our computers whereas there are many people out there in third world countries working for very little but very hard jobs.
It's important to appreciate even the smallest of rewards and not give up investing our time into this wonderful community. Considering how much time some of us spent on other social networking sites such as Facebook and Instagram where the only benefit is the exposure of our "wonderful" lives and the jealousy of our friends.
I personally invested years of my life into Facebook and there are many studies on how it influences us to belittle ourselves and feel bad about our lives in comparison to our peers. All our personal information and photos which are in the hands of Facebook and its employees monitoring every day. The massive corporation that it is and the addictions it has developed especially to the younger generation.
Some of us were able to completely change our lives with the rewards earned online and when Steemit was only a small community compared to now, every euro made online was an amazing accomplishment. Compared to YouTube or Google Ads especially where the pay out is only mere cents.
I wouldn't have much knowledge in crypto currency or how everything operates in regards to it...
It's basically doing the exact same thing you did on Facebook and Instagram except you actually get rewarded for that content. When Instagram or any other social network like it , is only popular because of its user's content and it's user's time invested in those sites and the earnings come merely from that content, Steemit on the other hand allows us to control our own earnings.
So considering all these points, why would you want to quit now? This is a great opportunity to not forget that even if you're not earning thousands...
...or hundreds from a post anymore when converting Steem dollars, it is still amazing to get something.
I never imagined websites like these existed and I worked many shitty jobs including bars where people would insult me, have fights, try to touch me inappropriately because they are drunk or different retail jobs where people shouted at me, thrown things at me because of their frustrations or cleaner jobs where I worked when I was younger because I needed extra cash, all these shitty jobs many of us do basically because we need money and Steemit just offers the chance to get that extra cash ( even if not much ) rather than doing over 50+ hours a week at those shitty jobs.
So try to remember...
that you have gotten to where you are now because of this amazing opportunity and it is merely because of your dedication and thriving for a better life. When celebrities or sports players earn thousands for one job and that feeling of injustice and unfairness where the rich get richer , you have earned money from writing!Whether it's your passion or not (I always hated writing as I'm not good at it or expressing myself with words in general) we get to express our views, develop our thinking and writing , learn about other cultures and countries while drooling to all those food pictures... and most of all we support each other in upvoting and following others.
I'm not writing this post just for the sake of telling people to calm
It's also for my own sake to remember that Steemit has been an amazing journey so far and has improved the quality of my life. It is for me to remember not to be greedy and appreciate the small things which I advise everyone to do as well. Not all of us came from a good background and not all of have financially stable families.
However we are all here , making money online.
