As much as I love to gush and commend often the feats that Steemit has achieved in recent times, I am also open to criticism for the sake of advancement.
One major shortcoming of the Steemit community that doubles as both a blog and a social media platform for budding writers, cryptoinvestors, developers etc is that it has waned in its prosepct in developing its social media platform.
I am privileged to be a user and also a member of social media apps like; facebook, instagram, twitter, linkedIn and so on. These platforms, upon inception weren't perfect in their strategies parse, but with time and progression they became apex ambassadors in their own rights and seclusions.
Therefore I urge the Steem society to upgrade and step up their game to increase their membership base, please existing subscribers and give them a reason to stay. Imagine being hindered to send DMs and private messages to users. The only resort is to tag along certain connotations, user names or trends. I feel Steemit can do a whole lot more. Users should be able to interact on a personal basis rather than commenting alone on each others curation or content.
I do hope this post is taken into consideration and quick measures are adopted to battle this challenges.
