Let's make a Steemit headset in gold! That's what I told myself yesterday. SO here it is, the Steemit wireless headset in gold with white leather cushions for the ears and head. It is also adjustable, so wether you have a large or small head, you can wear it. On top I engraved the steemit text. The circles you see at the front of the headset I extruded partly to give it an unique and unusual look. What music you will hear? Steemit music only :-D.
As you can see I made also holes for the speaker. The Steemit logo is also from white leather.
If you look closely, you see two buttons, left and right. If you press both you can adjust the headband.
Tutorial
First I downloaded a human head in stl file from Grabcad.com. When inserting this head in my fusion file, it is a Mesh file. So when inserting, I chose a SVG file. As soon as the head is there, the body of the head is becoming a mesh body that is not possible to edit. Only the appearance was able to be edited. I gave it this red shiny colour. I think designing a headset looks more attractive if you have a human head included, in this case a plastic human head.
I sketched a large circle and a smaller circle for the speaker. You also see 4 mini circles. These circles are for the holes of the speaker.
I extruded the entire circle till the desired thickness, sketched two line on the face where I am going to split the body in three. Later on, by going to Modify > Split body, I split the body and the 2 lines I sketched as splitting tool. The three are now three separate new bodies so I can give them different colours. By right clicking the bodies you can change the appearance of the bodies.
On the left side, I hided the gold and white circle so I can work on the holes of the speaker. I extruded the 4 mini circles through the black circle.
Because I don't want to make so many tiny holes, I made a pattern of the4 mini holes. By clicking on Create and select Pattern > Circular pattern, I made many tiny circles of the 4 extruded circles. They still need to be cut out and removed so I can see the circles.
By clicking on Modify > Combine I can now make the cuts with using operation Cut.
Here I offset the circle 5 times and sketched a horizontal and vertical line.
Later on I extruded the circles uneven. The Steemit logo I inserted and extruded as a new body. The logo I gave the colour white (leather).
Here I mirrored the headset.
Time for the headband
Going to the Patch Workspace I sketched a large circle, extruded the circle and thickened it.
I removed the lower part of the headband on both sides by sketching a horizontal line and splitting the body.
I made the wires by using the same circle of the headband and by going to Create > Pipe. I moved the wire a bit to the left and mirrored it.
The Steemit logo text I extruded on top of the headband. The edges of the headband I smoothened with Fillet
This is the head cushion I sketched. I split the body, mirrored it and change the appearance.
The last details: I made two rectangles and the two buttons.
