Today I passed my driving test!!!!! :-)))
I am very happy today because this afternoon I passed my driving test! I really didn't see it coming because I failed 5x in the past. My fifth driving exam was 5 years ago. Moreover, I spend in total around €5000, that's a lot of money! :-((((
I remember my 5th driving test 5 years ago that my driving examiner told me that I drove quite good but decided to fail me. I was really sad because I had a good feeling before the test started. I ran out of money and couldn't continue. €3000 I spent already 5 years ago. I took a VERY LONG break....
Last year in April/May I started to post more often on Steemit and somewhere in November/December last year I became a member! I saved a lot of Steem and SBD and cashed out already around €2000 for my driving lessons and driving exam. I started to take lessons since January this year at Autorijschool SAAN, a very good driving school with a very good driving instructor. He works professional, comes on time and has a lot of patience. Every week I drove 2 x 1,5 hours. There were weeks that I couldn't drive because my kids got sick, I got sick and I also had a week where my wrist was overloaded and couldn't drive....
The exam itself is very expensive as I had to pay €275. Driving lessons are super expensive here in Holland! It is also not as easy as in Canada or America. In Indonesia you don't even need to look in the side mirrors( I heard). Here they are very strict as you are not allowed to learn to drive with your parents or anyone else. You are only allowed to learn to drive with a driving instructor. Here in Holland you also have many people riding on their bike. Passing a test is also not so easy and most of the time it's all about LUCK! If you have a grumpy examiner, then it doesn't really matter much if you can drive good enough. He/she can still say you failed. During my lessons I drove of course good, at least that's what my driving instructor said. But during my driving exam I was super nervous and had to vomit almost.
Few days before the exam started, I felt super nervous and didn't had a good feeling. I felt as if I knew I would fail for the driving test. Last night I had a dream. I dreamed that I was in an elevator in a building and the elevator went all the way up. If you know me, I dream a lot and usually I have a dream before a certain event taking place. I didn't tell anyone, not my husband and not my driving instructor about my dream, because my feeling said I would fail, yet my dream said I would pass the driving test. Something that was very contradicting.
This morning I felt very nauseous, afraid to go to do the driving test. I am not sure how often I visited the toilet. 1 pm my driving instructor arrived and we drove to Eemnes where the driving test would be. First we drove half hour around and everything went so well. 2.22 pm the driving test started and Mr. Hoek was my driving examiner. He looked OK, not grumpy like most of the examiners. O boy, I made many mistakes during my driving test. He had to brake 5 times. Usually when an examiner is doing that, it means that you failed HARDCORE. During the exam my driving instructor was also in the car so he saw everything. When we stepped out of the car my driving instructor looked VERY disappointed at me and I looked also very disappointing. We both felt I failed hardcore. We went inside the CBR office and sat around the table. He mentioned my mistakes and suddenly said I passed the test! It felt so weird! I was crying because I couldn't believe it. It was as if an angel was moving his lips making him say: " Congratulations, you passed the exam."
Me and my driving instructor went back to the car and he asked me if I didn't want to call my husband to tell him the good news. I told him I want to keep it exciting. At home I cried and my husband also looked very sad, but I couldn't look sad for so long and laughed. So we both and the kids are very happy. Now I can add in my CV that I have a driving license. I can drive with my kids to my father and I can bring my father everywhere he wants to.
Here is a proof I really passed the driving test :-D
I am not allowed to drive yet, because I don't have a driving license yet. I still need to get it as I have an appointment on Monday and then it will take maybe a week or so till I have it and can finally drive. That also costs money. It costs maybe €70. Yes, driving lessons, exam and license are very expensive here. If I think about the €5000 what I could do with that amount of money....but I am happy the lessons are over. The lessons were really sucking all my energy out. For three months I had lessons 2 times a week.
