About a year ago, i wondered if i could actually earn much here in Steemit that i could live a normal life without the need of actually find a "real job" as this is more like a hobby for me. Fast forward to now and given that i have seen the price of Steem being 0,07$-4-5$ and sbd even at 10$ i think there are different categories of impact that steemit had in everyday's people lives.
Below i will further analyze these categories and you the one who's reading this you can find out in what category you belong to. Note that i am talking about the everyday user that join this platform without having nothing and didn't invest a huge amount of money here!
Zero Earnings
This is a category or a whole league that the abusers and scammers live! They are those people that get into steemit trying to earn money by making tons of "good post" and "follow me follow you" comments resulting in flags.
Another tactic that they use is posts that are actually copy/paste from all over the net but thankfully we have or if you just wanna check it yourselves, there a couple of apps that you can copy/paste their post and check whether it's original or not.
As you can imagine the total earning those people generate is basically close to 0 and as natural they can't and won't make a living as long as they don't change tactics!
Supermarket Earnings
In there you will find all those that came in this platform for a short period of time. They aren't scammers and in fact many quality users were among them but due to different situations they ended up leaving. In some cases watching the trending page before joining they may thought that they will earn that much money easily.
In other cases they just couldn't find followers, they may did something wrong but at the end of the day they were not patient enough in my humble opinion. That's why they stayed for a month or two and their earnings were enough for buying their groceries.
The only exception is the period that sbd was high. During that period and if they had quality posts that earned them a bit they could easily buy a new phone but because they though the prices will continue to increase or stay like that, as soon as they saw them decreasing they run away!
Pocket Money Earnings
This is the majority of the users that actually are in Steemit now and are over 5-6 months in here while they post over 3 times per week. (except if they post a very very good and detailed post like scientific ones that may take the whole week).
Because the prizes are now close to 1$ i can't say the majority earns so much that they can afford to rent a house or buy one. Let's say that the average earnings now are about 1-5$ per post (the sp is excluded as well as the sbds). So if we multiply this 4 or 5 times (let's say that they post that much) we have 4-20$ per week or 16-80$ per month.
Now if you also include the fees to take the money out etc etc the earnings will drop more. It's not that bad though cause that little extra income can be used for little things like your coffees, cigarettes, a nice gift, a pair of clothes etc etc. I have seen people here buy laptops, cameras, smartphones even cars with only Steem based income, how cool is that!
Normal Life Earnings
Sadly there are only a few that have achieved this. The key here is where you live and i am gonna explain what i mean. If someone lives in Europe, America, Australia etc etc were the salary is over 500$ per month and everything is more expensive surely with 50-100$ you aren't gonna make your dreams come true.
If you are living in a third world country though and you earn 20-100$ per month then chances are you are pretty pretty good! I have read posts from Nigerian people or others from third world countries that lived in villages, in where everything was cheaper compared to towns and cities and they said that they stopped from working in the factories or in the fields because now we can afford to live thanks to Steemit!
This is exciting news cause basically the platform works, some people's live became better and at least they enjoy what they do! When the sbd was on the rise, the majority of us could actually share this dream (at least i did) so who knows maybe in the future we may be fortunate to rent a house or buy one thanks to Steemit!
