I just posted (the previous post) in Steemit via the Steemit app.
I’m happy to say that this worked.
But despite allowing me to post, the app won’t showing me any else’s content.
Or even my own!
I’m typing this out on my phone.
Here’s a photo from near Soho during the morning walk.
Facebook must be spending a lot of money on the ads. I wonder who they are paying for this stuff. It’s a spooky mix of big brother and public service broadcast. I can’t think of any advert that looks and feels like it’s more from the government than this.
There is no regulation of social media and very little regulation of print or broadcast media.
The messaging and crude agenda setting the BBC and Rupert Murdoch get away with is really unbelievable.
The fact they are never held to account means they’ve know they can now get away with anything.
The UK government brought in an establishment figure, Frances Cairncross to write a report about the state of the media. The terms of the report were captured, perhaps pre-emptively, to exclude mention of regulating out of control newspapers. Murdoch gets away with pushing rampant corruption and corporatism precisely because he has cornered the self-regulation market.
