Worshipers walked on fire at a Hindu temple in Mandalay’s Aungmyaythazan Township on Sunday. Fire-walking over a bed of hot ash and coals and having Hindu priests pierce tongues, cheeks and bodies of devotees are seen as signs of devotion and self-sacrifice, according to Hindu tradition.
