Good Morning Steemit Community!
Thought I would take a minute to post my take on the recent changes introduced to Steemit. Like many yesterday I was taken by surprise when the site started changing right before my eyes. But after I had a chance to digest what was going on, I was pleased with what I saw. I like the idea of the additional tabs up in the Steemit task bar. Now it's easier for me to surf through different material depending on whether I want new, hot, trending or active posts. The promoted feature is one I was just playing around with this morning. I tend to be a hands on user who learns more from actually using the feature than just reading about it. So I experimented with promoting one of my own articles for a whole 5 cents worth of Steem Dollar. I know...last of the big spenders. But it worked. I think this will be a good feature in that anybody with any amount of Steem Dollar at their disposal can pay to have something they like promoted even if their voting power is extemely small like mine is at the moment. Plus, the funds collected go into a special account to be set aside for emergency to insure the profitability of the Steemit platform. I consider that a win/win.
There are other changes I'd like to see such as giving users their own "Wall" that they can personalize, similar to what Facebook provides. But I am sure Steemit will continue to grow and evolve as it should without becoming an obvious Facebook clone.
