I hope you're following updates. Recently they've been pinned to the right side of your feed page, if you use steemit.com, so they are pretty hard to miss, even if you don't follow this account directly.
And reading these updates is very important, because they either refer to steemit.com (the condenser), a still very popular interface for steem, or for other critical aspects of Steem, like the blockchain itself, or layers built on top of it (hivemind, communities). And obviously SMTs, when their time will come. Recently there were marketing updates too, related to smaller or bigger wins for Steem in relation to other crypto entities (namely exchanges, and STEEM listing).
All reasons to stay updated with these news, if you are involved in Steem, especially if you have some skin in it.
Now, I hope you paid attention to the last few updates from , because they are saying steemit.com (the condenser) is undergoing (almost over actually) a series of changes which will separate the wallet part from the social app.
The social app will continue to be accessible from steemit, com, while the wallet will be stripped out from this site and available on a different domain, not yet communicated.
Let me tell you that security-wise and as a way to reduce costs too, this is a valid solution.
Here's a good quote from a few weeks back:
A wallet-only app will be launched at a separate domain. On the Social app we will implement a warning dialog for when the user attempts to log in with anything other than their Posting Key. This is in preparation for restrictions that will coincide with the removal of wallet functionality from the Social app and will disallow logging in with the Master Password entirely.
After this separation, there will be much easier to develop the social app, for example. And I think there are some hints that this will follow. They are needed, of course.
