Hi Steemians
I noticed that many new and old users are still confused about their reputation. Many of them dont know even that the score near their nickname represents their reputation on Steemit. They dont know how to work on it and what effects it.

When I joined Steemit the first day my score was (25). After spending some minutes on the platform checking different posts I realized that many people had already (70). I used to call them "The Big Guys"
Your reputation raises very fast at the beginning, depends on your activity on the platform. But the higher it raises, the harder it is to increase it. So you need to work hard to achieve a high reputation. And by having it, you increase the chance of your posts being noticed and upvoted. So dont be frustrated if nobody upvotes your post, because reputation is one of the main reasons.
Buying Steem or Steem Power does not increase your reputation. Only posting, commenting, and getting upvoted will increase it. So be busy reading different posts, upvoting and writing nice comments.
How to raise your reputation
- Share good content
- Write good comments
- Upvote good quality posts
- Learn from other successful users
- Get upvotes from higher ranked users
- Build a good relation with whales, dolphins and minnows
Dont Spam
If you spam or write comments that have nothing to do with the post, you get downvotes from other users. Your reputation score will drop and nobody will trust you.
So if your score is under (25) means you got downvotes or someone flagged you.
Users with a low reputation cannot harm the reputation of someone with a high reputation. But a user with high reputation can harm someone with low reputation. So work on your reputation and remember that it takes you months to build it, but just minutes to ruin it.
