I HAVE A FEW STEEMIT QUESTIONS!

Hi Steemit!

I'm fairly new to Steemit but am a little confused when it comes to writing my blogs. I've learned a lot to this point but have a long way to go yet. But I am confused with a few responses I received from other Steem member's.

On of which is "Don't ask people to follow you". I am confused because a lot of blogs have on them follow me at Hive account@happyhousewife for example. But when I posted it on mine I was informed not to ask others to do it. May I ask Why?
Also another member said don't resteem? Why may I ask?

I currently don't put links at the bottom of my post because that's an issue I need help with, don't know how to do it? Can anybody help me with that question. Any assistance would from you all out there would greatly help me clear my head of all this confusion. I would appreciate any feedback.
