"Moscow and Washington agreed to the much-awaited meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin"
The announcement was made after US Secretary of State John Buchanan met with Putin, the BBC said.
On Wednesday Kremlin Foreign Policy Advisor Yuri Ushakov announced the decision to hold two leaders. He said the date and place of the meeting will be officially announced on Thursday. Russia and the United States will hold meetings in a country that is convenient for both countries.
Donald Trump said that he could sit with Vladimir Putin after the NATO summit in Brussels next month. He told reporters that the meeting could be held in Finland's capital Helsinki.
Trump said that the Russian President will discuss the situation in Syria and the situation in Ukraine.
Earlier, last November, Putin and Trump met in Vietnam on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Summit in Vietnam. After several meetings were planned, but for many reasons they did not see the light of light.
