Time & Effort.
Fellow Steemians, I recently read an article about an author's success. Well, the lack of their results. - This specific author wrote a superb article and got almost no attention at all. - So the results was identical to most new people's results.
This article got me thinking..
So I tried to find others who was facing the same issues. - It took me about 10 minutes and I could easily find a handful of people who all were struggling.
I read all of them and I also read the replies.
A few comments mentioned two vital ingredients for success on Steemit.
Time and effort.
One would think that most people would tell them straight away to put in time and effort right from the beginning, but I was wrong. - Most people didn't tell them that. They told the exact opposite.
Due to the amount of followers people have, they told them to basically not waste their precious time on writing detailed articles or replies, because it wouldn't give them the necessary exposure they needed to reap decent rewards... - And personally, I think it's wrong to say something like that.
I know, I'm one of those people who doesn't have superb rewards and perhaps it is because I'm doing it wrong. - But I strive to encourage my readers and I believe in two things. Quality and to be consistent.
Most of my articles I publish on Steemit takes me approximately 2 hours to write. - I'm not native in English and I struggle to find the proper words to use. - I deserve rewards too. - However, even if I get $2 or $20, I've been rewarded more than I ever would on any other platform. - So I'm satisfied at the end.
If I don't put in time and effort in my articles, I wouldn't produce good quality. - And if I don't provide good quality, I wouldn't gain so many new followers that I got either... - So to me, it's obviously better to spend time on everything I do.
With that in mind...
I don't recommend people to spend 5 hours to write one article because that wouldn't give them the exposure they needed. - And definitely not the rewards they're looking for either.
But come on, of course you should put in time and effort in everything you do on Steemit. - How else would you be able to reap rewards further on?
The most important thing to keep in mind, is that you most likely will not end up with great results your first couple of articles and it could take you tons of time to reap rewards. - It's a struggle but it's also a long term commitment.
Don't expect the world for every piece of article you published. - Established Steemians reap the rewards they do due to the time, effort and quality they spend and produce.
This is a total no-brainer to me. Time and effort will bring you results long term. - Poor quality can give you a nice payout if you're lucky, but you'll be trapped in a sink-hole by doing that to yourself.
It's harder to start producing quality if you started out with poor quality. It's harder to go that extra mile if you haven't done it before. It's harder to put in the necessary time and effort if you haven't done it in the past.
Time and effort is vital. - Followers are vital. - Make sure to make the best out of your time you spend on Steemit. But make sure you do it for the right causes too. - Don't expect the world for starters. Don't expect a single cent until you've produced good quality & until you've got yourself a decent following.
