I had my chance.. Did I actually blew it?! - I've come to the conclusion that my content probably isn't good enough. At least not for the whales or dolphins.
The title isn't my own words.. But it's a very common sentence on steemit. No matter where you look. If you look at the chat or among all the posts being published.. It doesn't really matter. And yeah, I'll be honest about it..
I would LOVE to get these amazing BIG cash rewards too..
Me, you and everyone else. We are all keeping our fingers crossed and wish for that "breakthrough" moment. All of us wants it.. But that just won't happen.. It's impossible for all of us to reach that success at the same time!
With that being said.. And to come back to the statement above.. Did I blew my chances..?
- I've both earned and learned on steemit during the time I've been here..
My first week was the best week. I had successful posts like these:
And.. Since then, I haven't had that same success even a single time. Nowadays my posts are landing at somewhere around $12 on average.. Which is the reason I've started to doubt my own content.
- Am I doing something wrong..?
- Are my posts different in any way..?
- Have I changed something..?
Before you start to discuss about me doing things for the sake of money and this and that.. Just don't. I'm not here for the money alone. If you read some of my previous content, then you'll understand why I'm here. Rewards are more than just cash. Just check this previous post and you'll see what I'm talking about: I'm Fluent In Whale! - At least if you ask Dory. -I bet you're fluent too. But does it really matter?!
Anyhow,
when you've had great response and awesome cash rewards on some of your posts.. Then you'll want more.
- So, here I am. Sitting in front of my computer, which I've been doing for the past 3 weeks now..
The sad part is.. That I'm starting to feel just a little bit discouraged.. And don't get me wrong. This is not a "I give up" speech or anything like that. Not even close. I'm not like that and I won't give up. Steemit is too awesome to just walk away and never look back.
With that being said though..
I've started to question my own content. I believe I share decent quality, especially for being a random dude from Sweden who's not native in English..
However, I've got upvotes from both dan and berniesanders on a few posts previously.. Right in the beginning. More than 2 weeks ago.. What did I do then .. And what am I doing now? - I can't see the difference.
I believe it comes down to two things alone.
The first one is luck. The second thing is timing.
I probably had beginners luck the first week.. Hopefully that's the reason at least..
And I hope so, because otherwise it would mean that my content doesn't please these whales nowadays..
Hopefully, it has to do with timing.. When to post. At what time. If I made my posts at the EXACT second ALL the whales looked at "new" posts.. Then I'm sure I'd get some upvotes. A few at least..
That might have been the reason for the success I had in the past.. Perhaps they found my content just due to timing... But in case they did .. Timing and luck .. is the same.
Moving on..
With all this being said.. I started to realize something..
If you go back and look at the success I had.. Take a look at those screenshots...
Perhaps it was because I used A BUNCH of different tags..?
That could certainly be a reason.. Right?!
- Sure. It could... But it's not likely. How come?
How would I explain the success of all the other posts..?
- The fact is. You will never know when the whales will find you.
The only thing you can be certain of.. Is that they will. No matter if they upvote something you've spent 3 hours on or a meme you put together in 3 minutes.. They will find you eventually.
I will keep doing what I do.. And hopefully, I'll get another chance..
And I suggest that you do the same!
Best Regards,
