The first thing people would say is "don't write for the money".
I personally always count upvotes & comments as a reward too and I don't write for the money.. But I do want upvotes and comments as that will lead to followers.
A good following will obviously make your life easier on steemit. Just as it would on Instagram if you're looking for likes on your photos.
So What To Do?!
- I've spent 4 hours writing my article. I published it and I got slim to none for it. 17 upvotes (11 are from automated bots), 1 comment (from a spammer who's promoting his post) and $0,14. I stand for $0,02 of those with my incredible power.
I guess you can see yourself in this..?
However, I am about to write something that can happen.
As soon as the payment has been made your post can generate further rewards during 4 more weeks. And my personal feeling have been like "oh.. Okay. But I guess 1 out of 60K users will try to find old content.. so that won't happen.."
Even if that is true.. Which I know for a fact that it isn't.. But even if it was.. That 1 user can make a huge difference for you.
Just take a look at this:
As you can see, I have a pending payout of about $100 on both of these. Even though I already got paid for these posts previously..
-And how is that possible?!
You see, whales have all sorts of power. First and foremost, steem power.
And I got lucky. Smooth upvoted both of these and I'm truly thankful for it.
But as soon as he did that, others started to do the same. Minnows. It could have been other whales and it's still not too late for that, but minnows started to upvote these old posts just a few seconds after smooth pressed that "upvote". - And that's amazing!
So.. Even if you published the best article ever.. And got "nothing" for it..
- It's not too late.
During the next 4 weeks. Anything can happen. Just as it did for me!
You have a second chance.. A long one. You have a 4 week long second chance.
