My name is Hossein, I am originally from Iran and moved to the United States in 2012 to pursue my PhD. I graduated in May 2017 and currently I live in Nashville TN.

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Vanderbilt University Medical School, and I do research on quantitative biophysics. At some point I will write here for you more on my research; we study how do cells sense their environment and how does that regulate the expression of genes.
This is a photo I have taken in our Lab under the microscope; each bright spot is a cell and the brighter small dots are mRNAs.
As a physicist and having been involved heavily in computational modeling, machine learning, and data analysis -- as part of my PhD thesis as well as my current research -- I have always had a side look on stuck market and techs based on data science, but I never got truly attracted into that world, until I recently got to learn about the emerging digital currency based on the blockchain technology. Already a shoutout to #steemit as I found this very interesting, and I am here.
