Pockets Of Influence
Everyone nowadays wants influence. To go even further many want followers just for the sake of it. Now what I'm not saying is that there is anything wrong with trying to influence people. In fact that is exactly what I do with my content. But if our focus is only on amassing as many followers as possible we are missing one of the most powerful things about being on Steemit.
The ability to build strong and reciprocating communities.
I believe this is one the most powerful things about being here. I've used other social media sites and to be honest I never felt the same cohesion and community that I feel here. It's just different. Here is where I feel like I can have great conversations and empowering engagement. This year, I believe, Steemit/Steem will blow the doors off of our expectations. Especially once SMT's (Smart Media Tokens) are at play.
We don't have to worry about gaining hundreds of thousands of followers just for the sake of it. Focus on creating value for people first. Even if it's 1 person. Being able to have a positive impact on just 1 person counts. Once you focus on giving people something of value the followers will be a by-product of your willingness to give. This is why I don't worry about the followers. I just do my best to give you all great and positive content while building a feeling of community. Hopefully what I am doing will make a big difference in the long run. You can do the same. Now go set the world on fire and give. Peace out.
