I began to post on Steemit. I was first invited by a small group of crypto investors. Immediately, I knew the Steem platform would have the potential to change social media. I have always consider that the better aligned a person or object (network or system) is aligned to principles nature, the more effective they can be. I think that Steem's underlying values and operation functions very naturally for human behavior and community. Steem follows some natural principles that I think are key to creating a powerful and sustainable network for social interaction. For example:
Cause and Effect
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. -Isaac Newton's Third Law
In Steem, if you post, you earn. If you don't post, then your wallet pretty much stays the same. This also has to do with making a effect. The Steemit platform allows us to push/cause something (content) to receive a reaction (reward).
Authenticity
The Steem platform encourages the creation of authentic, engaging and nourishing content. Sure, there's lots to see here, but the users that really thrive are high quality content creators.
These are just off the cuff examples, but my point is that the Steem platform runs on underlying principles of nature that ensure its usability.
My future approach to Steemit: I will consistently "Power up" to build my influence and support this thriving network. I think I have a long way to go before I can make significant gains from content, so for now, I will just concentrate on building my account. My default option will be to "Power Up 100%" to build my Steem Power. I will support my followers and help new users to grow the community.
A special thanks to the cool people on Steemit who have inspired me to continue contributing.
