yes! I have found that if I lie to myself and others I cannot stand for anything and fall for anything... so the key here for me is honesty - Truthfulness - that means - if the cashier pays me too much in change, I need to give the money back. For me, harboring knowledge of my own dishonesty blocks me from my ability to tell what is True. Now, this does not apply in paying taxes to gov't because there is no authority and taxation is theft - it happens between me and another person one-to-one. There are thousands of ways I could lie to myself everyday which will make the ability to stand for something more and more difficult - so perhaps that should be my goal on the ground -seeking my Truthfulness so that I can stand for something and thereby detect the scammers and schemers...
