Valuing content isn't just about upvotes. I realized the breadth and depth of steem content today, and I'm IMPRESSED!
For those speed readers who want the "quick summary" of this post, I'll post up top first. Steemit and the steem blockchain is starting to become my TOP 3 places I go to on the internet for current news, events, and information.
These posts I find, are very fun and informative and worthwhile. I don't need to hear it from my local newspaper, TV, friends or family... I can just login to steemit and get quality material posted here a lot everyday!
So yes, quality posts should be upvoted. Authors want to get paid. But even if authors don't make thousands of dollars per-contribution, the information I get out of them is worth thousands of dollars to me.
All it takes is one good tip, one good piece of advice you didn't already know to enrich your life, and it becomes priceless.
..and that's how I'm starting to see STEEM and STEEMIT today. It's becoming priceless, as a reader of quality content.
I'm glad being a reader is free. No subscription needed. Think of the thousands of dollars you'd waste over your whole life paying cable tv fees "just to watch the news"... and free information via steemit is quite a bargain!!
I wanted to share how I feel today. Now you can see which 3 posts spawned me to write this...
I started this morning looking at this "regular" awesome weekly Bitshares report by :
Bitshares - State of the Network - 5th September 2017
He's done 51 of these amazing reports, content-rich. If you are into Bitshares, they're incredible. If you're NOT into Bitshares, they are a prime example of a quality post. Just take a look at it.
Thank you for demonstrating hard work, and persistence to not do it just 2 or 3 times, but 51 times and counting... You're such an asset to the Bitshares community, and steemit too!
...next...
I stumbled upon a conspiracy-theory like post from
Electronic Warfare Patents Seek To Alter Human Consciousness
It's basically about patents filed to control human brains. Sounds far fetched, I know... but people are working on it, and filing patents on it. Eventually a science fiction movie will be made on this... (and then the real thing usually comes out after the movie). Sick stuff. But at least I became aware of the possibilities on steemit.
Thank you for this particular video we need to be aware these things are brewing.
Next, I found writing about sick gross stuff happening at Domino's Pizza with moron employees thinking it is funny to taint customer's foods here:
Dirty Domino's Exposed | 2017 | Compound Films
I didn't know about this... maybe you did. I'd rather not know about it. However, knowing about it and letting this crap go viral is important. If society as a whole thinks it is not funny, and degrades those who think it is funny.... perhaps those idiots will hear about it and stop doing it.
We can pretend the real world doesn't exist, but it does. Knowledge and awareness are key to a better world. So I want to hear about these things, positive or negative alike.
Thank you for that video, we need to be aware these things still go on
I'm on day 12/30 of my positivity challenge.

How about you? Do you ever get quality information, or up to the minute news from the steem blockchain?
