My First Year Anniversary on Steemit

Yesterday, upon checking my account on steemd.com, I saw that I am already 364 days on Steemit along with symbols of my one year on the platform. However, I used to think one year is 365 days so when I checked my account, the symbol is gone, still I am already 365 days old or one year on Steemit!

How I learned about Steemit.

I learned about Steemit months before I joined. I checked it however, perception grew that topics that should be tackled on the website is cryptocurrency, something I have very little knowledge about then, which even only revolves around Bitcoin.

By August, I saw posts on Facebook by a member, and my interest grown a bit. I didn't join, but I observed the platform until eventually, I decided to join the platform.

Experience on Steemit as a newbie

I created my first ever post, of course, it's an introduction post. Guess how much it earned?

Obviously, I only earned 0.09. I used to think I am just a newbie so that's normal to earn such tiny amount. I didn't even included #introduceyourself tag because I wasn't told. I included it by editing when I learned about it from some members. My belief on the site did not falter. I wrote my second post, and it earned a hefty zeros. Yeah, it earned 0.00. I didn't lose hope, I wrote preceding posts which earned few cents if not zero. Yes, I earned a number of cents and zeros on my posts.

My hope grew when one of my posts received an upvote. I can still remember that my first post to earn a dollar was an upvote from Hive account@acidyo. Eventually, the kind Hive account@surpassinggoogle noticed me and became the biggest help on my Steemit career.

I also learned about curations from teams. To be honest, I never received a big Hive account@curie vote then, until January when I reached 59 reputation. The upvote, though, was I think where Hive account@curie was part of trail since it is a music-related post, and it earned more than $20. I am receiving upvotes from Hive account@curie continuously due to music-related posts, which Hive account@curie is on that trail. Thanks to Hive account@curie who valued posts, and supporting other initiatives.

I also received curations from OCD, and Steemians who has huge stakes and supported minnows like Hive account@beanz, Hive account@arama, and Hive account@glitterfart. They might not remember me, but I remember how they supported my posts including my charity works which includes this post.

Joining communities

I became a part of a group when I joined Steemit. In fact, I was one of the first members of the group. Nevertheless, things didn't turn out well after several months. I don't want to elaborate it here because it is the thing in the past that needs to be buried.

Last January, the leaders collapsed the group, and it paved a way for me to explore. I became part of Hive account@steemph, Hive account@steemitachievers, and the lead of Hive account@steemitdavao invited me to join them. I am able to learn more, and help other members.

I also joined Discord communities, and currently a part of Hive account@steemph Staff, Hive account@tagalogtrail writers, and one of Hive account@esteemapp's Community Supporter.

Group in Pangasinan

I am happy that a group of members in Pangasinan was formed. It's not official but we help each other, by which a lot of them are my personal friends and even family by blood.

Milestone of 63 reputation

Recently, I just surpassed 63 reputation, and it toom quite a long time. You can read that post here.

I learned about Hive account@esteemapp last September, and I regularly used it until now because the functionalities and features clicked. Thanks to Hive account@good-karma for developing this app.
