We had a wonderful evening in Johannesburg on the 24th of September 2016 at the first Steem event in South Africa. We made some very good friends and also linked the faces of our new Digital friends on the Steem platform.
The event was very successful and we had a total of 11 people joining us, and a few phoned and excused themselves due to prior engagements. I am planing to do such an event every 6 months, to see how the community grows.

It was a very nice venue and thank you to the Brazenhead in Fourways. We will bear the venue in mind for future meetup's as it is very central for most people in Gauteng, South Africa.
We had amazing food and great company with the guys who joined us on the evening.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the food, but it looked something like this.
Here is a pic of some of our new friends:

It was a great evening of fun conversations and also gaining an understanding of what is making the other steemit users tick. Understanding their frustrations and building a support network around you for the future, .We had some noise and screams coming from the outside of our little conference room, as a result of the Premier league game between Chelsea and Arsenal.

I highly recommend that each of you, who have not attended a Steem Meetup event yet, to please take it on yourself, to arrange an event in your area. It is not a formal event, it is easy to arrange and it is wonderful to meet the people on the other side of the computer screens.
We are now looking forward to our more formal event on 29 October 2016.
(Ceo and Co-Founder of Steemit) will be joining us as the Opening Keynote speaker, at the first Steem Saturday event.
The Steem Saturday event is open for anyone to arrange in their country or area, and you can read more about this event and the arrangements in the posts below:
