I started cosplaying in 2015, I was new to cosplay it was new to me at the time. It excited me seeing my favorite fictional characters coming to life from movies, comic books and anime. I wanted to become apart of the cosplay community, I went to my first convention in Toronto. There were so many attractive hand crafted costumes, it was inspirational. I was so blown away.
I started to learn how to sew and hand crafted on my own; It was frustrating and difficult learning how to sew by myself. My sewing and crafting skills were horrible at the beginning, but I never gave up.
I became obsessed, I spent my days and nights just creating, sewing by tread and sweat. I was literally in my own solo sweat shop... I didn't eat or sleep that much. I was so focused finishing my wearable art piece. I love it to much I felt like a mad scientist creating life!
2017
There are are so many themes, unique original ideas that can be worn as wearable art. I believe that costumes dont have to be an exact replica from a high budget film. It is creative and entirely up to you how you want to dress up as. Clothing is an identity and it plays a important role in our society.
BEFORE & AFTER: Improvements ..embarrassing! As my creative skills improved so did my confidence in my self, I have changed dramatically over the short amount of years... I will save the story for another post!
