This happened last year too.
You might remember that Steem had a range of about $1.60 - $1.80 for several months. Smart traders learned to buy at $1.60 and sell $1.80.... but then it fell apart.
We had a plunge that went all the way down to $0.88.

It stayed under a dollar for a while and people were saying things like that this platform is dead.
I can't even recall how many conversations had people calling for the death of Steemit.
Back then people weren't even attempting to separate the idea of the coin Steem and the platform Steemit.
Honestly, when the rise to $9 happened there wasn't even a lot going on in here.
It sucks that we had such a downfall, and that it lasted so long. We aren't even over it yet.
Having said that, we know that the price fluctuates. We know that we go through a dead period where people aren't posting. We did the same thing last year.
Nevertheless, we had a nice end of the year rise.... I believe we will do the same this year.
After all, this year we actually have a lot of great things in the pipeline.
Hivemind.
SMTs.
Communities.
I know. We've been hearing about those things a lot and not seeing much happen. However, we know that they are being worked on.
We are in a lull just like we were last year. Last year we rose out of it for no particular reason. This year we have plenty of reasons to rise out of it and I am quite certain that we will.
HODL the fort. Our time is coming.
