The reason I signed up with Steemit is because I saw it written in the clouds... Weird? Yep!
This might sound crazy but here goes…
One fine day back in March, I was messing around with my camera. I was trying to get a photo of my eye in the sunlight. I decided that I would need my tripod. I set the tripod up and mounted the camera. It didn’t click in, and it fell to the floor. I quickly picked it up and tried to turn it on. It wouldn’t. I tried many, many, many times to get it to power up with no such luck. Ironically, earlier that day I had been sooking to Ben about wanting a new camera.
I went through all the stages of grief. I hung around in denial for WAY too long, frantically searching Google for the answers to fix it. At the end of the day, it was broken. So I decided to take a breather. I laid down on the floor and soaked up the sun's warmth. I felt devastated. A part of me was missing. While I was staring up at the sky, I pondered how on earth I was going to afford another camera. Should I get it repaired? Should I just stop shooting? Is this a sign? And then a sign did appear.
Written in the clouds was the word Steem!
I’m talking loosely shaped letters but it spelt Steem. I recognised the spelling straight away because Ben had been talking about it a few months back. I instantly stood up and set up an account. An excruciating 2 weeks went by with no word of acceptance. I decided I would fork out for a new camera.
And then, one beautiful Spring day in Vancouver, I was finally accepted into the Steemit family. And I’m so glad to be here.
