FIFA sold more than 164,000 tickets to Russia 2018 in 24 hours
Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, the United States, Peru and Colombia are among the top 10 buyers in the last phase of ticket sales for the 2018 World Cup.
The International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA) reported that 164,136 tickets were sold to attend the 2018 World Cup in Russia in the first 24 hours of the last ticket sale phase.
FIFA said that Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, the United States, Peru and Colombia are among the top 10 buyers in the final phase of ticketing for Russia 2018.
"Most of the locations in this phase were allocated to Russian fans (87,902), followed by fans from Argentina (7,740), Mexico (6,598), Brazil (6,198), the United States (5,780), Germany (5,181), Peru ( 3,799), Colombia (3,756), China (2,930), Egypt (2,370) and India (1,905), "FIFA detailed on its website.
The organization announced that fans will be able to buy tickets for World Cup matches online, subject to availability, in real time and in order of reception of the requests, during the last phase of sale that will end on July 15.
FIFA said that due to the creation of the official ticket resale platform, "the opportunity is presented that tickets can be re-sold for some games that were already sold out".
The 2018 World Cup will begin on June 14 and end on July 15, where Germany will defend its current championship.
