After being a steemit member for about 6 months now, there is one thing I have noticed, which I think could be improved.
When you post something, it remains relevant via the main 4 tabs for what is a comparitavely short period of time. After that it sort of disappears into the ether. It may get views from randomers on google, but they are unlikely to generate you money as only a small fraction of those will have accounts. Because of the large variety of content on Steemit, it is also unlikely that someone will search for it specifically.
There must be a way of making that old content useful, otherwise it is just taking up space on the blockchain (don't know if that's a legitimate concern) and not getting the attention it deserves. Maybe it's just a case of adding a few new tabs such as "Random". Or actually... now I think about it, a "Related" box with linked articles underneath the post you are reading might be all that is needed to bring the old ones to our attention. Then you can add another tab with a different filter that shows older posts that are still getting a lot of likes.
So how about it? I have no idea how Steemit works with adding new features, or if there is anything like this already planned. Maybe just like this post if you think it's a good idea and one of the developers will see it and give it some consideration?
