The Portuguese community grows at Steemit. Brazilian and Portuguese users join the platform every day. This makes us think that if this rhythm continues, the Portuguese community (#pt) will be equal to or greater than other communities that already have a great force here at Steemit like the Chinese (cn), Korean (kr) and Spanish (es) community.
This growth of the Portuguese community in Steemit was something we expected from the Projeto Camões (Hive account@camoes), a project I designed to support portuguese-speaking users at Steemit.
It is worth noting (only in note) that the second largest user membership on Facebook is Brazilian. They are millions. Of course, Steemit is not Facebook, it is superior to Facebook in everything, in all structure and governance, but for reference requirements, we can have a sense of how much the portuguese community at Steemit will grow in the coming years.
But this growth should not only be maintained in Steemit's numbers and statistics. We have authors who produce content of high quality and originality, but are not noticed, are not recognized, are not voted by those who have power (whales and witnesses). We need support, we need "people of power" in the Steemit community to support us.
At this moment we don't have specifically any witnesses who can cure exclusively posts written in Portuguese. I would love to start this, but my current financial conditions don't allow it. Surely in a near future I can launch myself as a witness, but at this moment it is impracticable.
Therefore, me Hive account@jsantana, as the user with the high reputation in the Portuguese community here at Steemit, I urge you "men of power" in Steemit (whales / witnesses) and other investors who have a high voting power, so that look with more affection in the contents posted in Portuguese language here in Steemit.
I don't ask for myself, but for the users of the Portuguese community who feel "excluded", in the "obscurity" on the platform in relation to the non-recognition received. I'm sure they will be very grateful to all of you who can give this support, give that "hand."
We never forget those who help us and for sure you will not be forgotten by the support given to our community.
