I can't live on $2 a day. Now don't get me wrong I've been only doing this for a few days, and I'm punching well above my weight with a Rep Score of (38) already but I can see how STEEMIT won't make cents for a lot of people (see what I did there, hehe).
You see even unskilled writers can make a few dollars for 300 words on sites like Fiverr and iWriter and that's guaranteed income and not dependant on if the crowd likes you or values your writing.
And sure you might jag a decent 'UPVOTE' every now and again but you can't live day to day with the hope of putting food in your mouth when your post hits gold.
So let's not upsell this getting 'money for nothing' notion that seems to be floating around.
You will always TRADE your TIME for MONEY.
Even while earning a "passive income" with crypto, at some stage, you'll need to put in the work to know when to 'Buy', 'Hold' or 'Exit'. And for most investors, that's a daily stressful ritual.
However, let's not get too far away from the topic at hand.
Is STEEMIT worth your time?
Well, I guess that really depends on what you'd do with your time otherwise. You see if you'd just be watching the idiot box, or surfing the net then yes, go write yourself an article and earn a few dollars (if you're lucky).
But if you have other ways to make money online (shameless plug) then STEEMIT has to have another Ace up its sleeve.
Hell, I can do a survey and earn $5 without breaking a sweat, but it's just not rewarding enough.
So why am I still attracted to STEEMIT?
Community - Hell yeah, STEEMIT has this in spades. And unlike other crypto communities, I've been involved in, this one appears to have its shit together.
Future Value - Now this could be akin to gambling on the futures market, but you have to have STEEM to enjoy an increase in its value so it's really a catch 22.
The Adventure - Imagine being able to tell your Grandkids you were apart of something big when it first started. Sure, I missed the launch but this is still the wild west and land grabs are still a thing.
There are Women Here - Yep, I was amazed too. Usually, crypto is dominated by nerdy males and I have no idea why, because crypto is for everyone. Perhaps a roomful of stinky nerdy boys isn't every girl's dream night out.
But the real reason I'm so attracted to STEEMIT is... <Drum Roll>
... STEEMIT is the easiest way to get into Crypto right now.
Yep.
STEEMIT has to be the easiest way to enter the mysterious World of Cryptocurrencies.
- No FIAT to BTC transfers
- No KYC (Know your Customer)
- No Dodgy Exchanges
- No Blockchain Downloads
And no handing over personal information, besides a Phone Number and Email Address.
Just a simple sign-up process, a few email confirmations and moments later...
(actually days later, but that's another story)
You're on a platform where you can Trade your Time for Money. Woohoo!
For instance this beautiful soul was lured into the community with a promise of 500 SP as a conversation starter and has now begun her crypto journey. What some people will do for a little SP these days ;-)
But seriously at the time of posting, she'd only earned $8.57 from a community whose net worth is upwards of $460Million. Go figure.
Yeah, I know crypto is still filled with people who have too much and still want more and those that care are already stretched and need your help.
Give a little, get a little that's what the 'UPVOTE' is all about right?
So perhaps we need to make sure we aren't focused inwards but rather consider what's good for the greater community.
Go spread a little Christmas cheer and go nuts with your upvote in the introduceyourself feed these holidays and turn the tentative and cautious into raving STEEMIT fans.
Give a Smile and Get a Reward :-D
I know I would if my 2 cents was actually worth 2 cents. haha hohoho
