First of all, I want to say thank you to all the folks who submitted an entry to last week's contest.
I was made aware of some really awesome Steemians, and highly encouraged by the participation of the community!
I wanted to give something back to the community here, which has given so much to me, so I am really pleased to announce the winner of this contest,
! She was suggested via this post by
.
Here are some excerpts from his post:
Here is my nomination for this initiative: she's a great woman and one of the best mothers that i know. She's on steemit with the name
, her name is Aishlinn.
She's a woman that puts her kids first in her life, growing with them and experiencing the joy of watching them becoming healthy and strong. She also doesn't take much time for herself and like many Irish people Aishlinn finds it difficult to ask for help or support, but yet she'll be the first one to reach out to anyone in her community.
Financially she doesn't rely on governments to give her money, the kids are not registered in any child benefit system, since she doesn't agree with governments she doesn't want their money and all the hassle that come with it. The price of freedom to raise kids.
In 2016 Aishlinn her friend and their 3 kids done a 6 weeks trek accross the Alpujarras mountains in the south of Spain
to raise money for Syrian refugees in Europe and the creative hub for home educated kids in her town. They have set up a little blog to share this journey with everyone : https://ponycaravanfundraiser.wordpress.com/
In 2017 She started a Gofundme page for her sister in Ireland who is diagnosed with cancer. She's supporting her through her healing with all her knowledge about healthy food, mushrooms, etc.. So far this initiative raised over 6000 euros something really amazing for her small family : https://www.gofundme.com/help-my-sister-heal-her-cancer.
If she gets this prize, in my opinion, (because I know she would spend it on her kids) she should get a laptop. Why ? She found a computer in the bins 3 years ago and it's been hers ever since. However the computer is old it needs an external keyboard to write and a fan next to it to operate , as it constantly overheats even in winter. It's really on its last leg and she doesn't have the finance to buy another one. With this laptop I believe she'll be able to write great articles and share her passion with everyone that follow her here.
is one of those individuals who really makes this platform valuable, in my opinion. The level of genuine engagement she brings to other users' posts via thoughtful commentary and insightful observations, and the unique, articulate content brought to the table with an inspiring confidence, is exactly what Steemit is all about.
I highly encourage you to read more via her blog (which is super interesting!)
, CONGRATS!!! Leave me a comment with a BTC address to which I can send the prize, or you can contact me on Steemit chat and we can work it out from there!
Merry Christmas, everybody! STEEM OOOOOOONNNN!!!!!
