Let's be honest, Steemit has been very impressive with its early days around. Apart from the recent website hack a couple of days ago, Steemit has been looking really good. The hack, if we are to be honest has affected Steemit in a negative way in my opinion. I'm not saying that's the reason why Steemit hasn't been able to rise in price in the last week. Before that Steemit was on an abnormal high(in a good way). I'm not saying that's the reason why perhaps it's gone down in volume for example on bittrex but all these reason could be. Despite all of this, i still trust Steemit. I still believe in the project.
One thing i wonder about is how abnormal people earn profit, sort of like return on interest with Steem power. It makes you wonder whether it's real or not, or whether, when you power down, you're going to get all your rewards before something potentially goes wrong. I'm not hoping for it, as a matter of fact, i am saying God forbid. That will hurt a lot of people and i don't want to think about it. For the people who own just Steem, i mean they can easily instantaneously sell their Steem at the price they want, of-course for profit and run(in a good way) so i say day-traders don't worry about it too much. As a matter of fact i think Steemit is actually benefiting more day traders now than long term investors. That is, mostly people who have a lot of Steem power. I know some of them who have powered down right now getting their first payments next week. Those people will have to wait 2 years in order to get all their rewards. And even with those people, what's the guarantee they'll get all their rewards before the 2 years is up. So if there's a question with even people who have already powered up, how about people who haven't and plan to buy more say over the next 2 years especially because they don't have the funds available right now and get it only on short term basis, for example a person who works and uses part of his/her earning to invest in Steem. From the way Steem power works, it's serves as a perfect retirement plan. If people have the goal of powering down very late, their expectations will be shattered if something negative happens. These are real concerns and I'm not trying to be negative here or anything.
For people who are powering down now, at least they're starting to receive their bountiful rewards as a result of their investments and the incentive that Steem power has given them, so they're good. If Steemit(the entire entity) stayed around forever and nothing went wrong, that'll be revolutionary and i seriously pray and hope for that. I wish Ned, Dave and the entire team all the best. I know they go through challenges especially given the growth of Steemit, most recently the hack that happened a couple of days ago, which i think they handled exceptionally though. Let's all support them in whatever way we can to make this community the best community ever. But what I'm really asking myself is, can it stay around for good or there's that possibility for it to collapse(i hate the fact that i just said this). I'm sure this has been a question on everyone who owns a lot of Steem power or plans to buy it. They know the most of it is going to be locked long term and will have to wait in order to get it. When i introduce Steemit to my friends and i mention this, it deters them off. They think it's a scam. Recently hashocean run away with millions of dollars from over 700,000 people although hashocean can never be compared to Steemit. Steemit is way more transparent than hashocean. i was one of the victims of hashocean. I lost over $800. Now enough of that. For me if that was to happen to Steemit, God forbid, the experience alone of having to interact with people on the first/one of the early social media sites on a blockchain is priceless. If i lost that much, it would be very disappointing but i would live. People are investing a lot in Steempower and i don't want to see that happen with Steemit. Let's do whatever we can to help the team. If we can do our best and help this Team, i honestly think Steemit will be the number crypto platform above Bitcoin. I honestly really do. It has a lot of potential.Â
Again, i don't want anything bad to happen to Steemit but these were questions  i had on my mind and really wanted to express to you all. But even though these questions are on my mind, i feel very good about Steemit. Please let me know what you think. I wish Steemit the very best in their future endeavors.
