Since working at the marketing field in real life, I care deeply for brand appearances. If a company has given out official Brand Guidelines, they are meant to be followed. If you haven't noticed yet then Steem has changed it's looks as well and in my opinion it looks great! Amazing even.
New homepage of Steem
It has nice blue and white color combination and a lot of good and valid information about the page. I've noticed a few people saying that the page seems like it's put together fast and it has some mistakes here and there, but the overall look still is good. I cannot really whine about it at all.
You can check the new webpage of Steem at http://steem.com.
New logo + Brand Guidelines
If you check out the page you also notice that Steem has a new logo that looks fresh and fancy. If you roam around the page a little more, you notice a link called Brand. Reaching the page, Steem allows you to download a .zip file with their Brand Assets. In that file you can also find the Brand Guidelines.
I noticed a bunch of posts (or Steem related pages) that still use the old Steem logo. Since I have read through the guidelines, I know that Steem doesn't really want us to use the old one anymore. There are also some rules on how to use the new one.
Brand Assets - Use them
Brand Assets include all the needed logo files in different colors for different backgrounds. It has backgrounds Steem uses. It also has a guidebook which includes all the needed CMYK/rgb color values and fonts to in your Steem designs. Please use them and let's dump the old and dull Steem logo!
After discovering all this, I instantly redesigned the facebook posts even to match the brand and look more professional and "official." Looks nice right? Check out the Steem Estonia page here.
