Much awaited regulation will likely be introduced by the end of this year. Heated debates are going on and the panel has been formed under Finance Ministry that is still studying the blockchain and cryptocurrencies separately. According to the officials: "There are lots of issues that needs to be understand only when we may give favors that we think has to be given".
According to the panel, blockchain is really an interesting thing. They want to take best possible advantages out of it without attaching monetary/financial benefits.
Conclusion:
In my opinion the Indian government will allow and declare cryptocurrencies as commodities so that they may know better when it comes to trading those currencies, from where the cash flow is coming?.
On the other hand Government has been criticized heavily due to crack down on exchanges earlier this year, asking local banks to end up all business relations with them> Since then some major exchanges and well known investors have put the matter before Supreme Court, moreover the final hearing date of the said matter has been set to SEPTEMBER, 11.
