Since Steemit made platform where one can earn money for getting votes on their posts there are a few who went into such niche.
Some of those are direct copies/forks and some are doing stuff their way. Trybe that we speak of here is doing stuff unique and is not a direct competitor technology wise.
They use tokens on EOS network and you earn them for voting and writing but the website is centralized (at least for now) content is on their website. Just the tokens are on blockchain.
This is why they lost a bit of content possibly, not sure how balances of users were stored though - will they clear for that day ? We will see,.
