So I've just gone and acted completely stupid, the hard drive where I had my operating system was failing badly to the point it was starting to freeze up so I had to do an emergency transfer of files ( I was particularly worried about my work but that was all on another hard drive so it was safe ) and stupidly instead of making sure I safely backed up all my chrome passwords on a nice little text file like I usually do I hadn't made sure to put down my password for steem.
Now you're wondering, but Lethn, if you're posting to us here, don't you have your password? Yes and no, I actually had the sense to copy and paste my google chrome profile into a backup folder so for some weird ass reason, I suspect because of the way the passwords manager works I am still able to sort of log into the profile. However, chrome doesn't restore the passwords fully which means I can't just click on show and change my password.
So the login information is actually all there, it's just stored in an encrypted database, there wouldn't happen to be anyone here who can tell me how to get the password so I can fix the bloody account is there? This is going to be one hell of a lesson for me if by some miracle I gain full access to my account again. I can post and send messages, but I can't make trades because the auto-fill feature hasn't saved the password like I said.
If someone could post this to some tech experts I'd really appreciate it :( I think this account could be recovered by someone knowledgeable.
