Bursting with joy, I announce that a new dolphin has evolved. I've waited for this time to come for a while like a woman in labour waiting to be delivered of her child.

Who Is a Steemit Dolphin?

According to witness Hive account@arcange in steemitboard update 6, Steemians with 10 million vests to 99.99 million vests are dolphins. As observed in steemd.com, I have 10.24 million vests. Moreover, in my 3.5 month journey as a Steemian, I have authored 175 posts, made over 1000 comments, replied 742 times and upvoted 6,643 times as shown on steemitboard.

The Characteristics of a Dolphin

A dolphin is in its natural habitat is observed to be social, playful and intelligent as reported by Suzanna Hulmes in this post . Suzanna also stated in the same post that dolphins have also been known to interact with different species, including whales and humans. That part of dolphins interacting with humans reminds me of my experience during the dolpin show at Ushaka Marine World, Durban, South-Africa, January, 2014. (I will share that experience another day).

My observation from a graph by witness Hive account@arcange in his post last month is that there are about 1,000 steemit dolphins.

It would be interesting for me to meet with other steemit dolphins, orcas and whales, especially those those whom I haven't met before to interact with them. Surely,I will learn a lot from them and their experiences as dolphins, orcas, and whales. The understanding is there that dolphinhood is another very long journey until the next level of becoming an orca (100 million vests to 999,999,999)

Vision of Becoming a Whale.

To dream big, generally, is a very good thing. The dream to become a whale (having more than 1 billion vests) someday would seem like a very big joke. However, I will keep hope alive and take baby steps daily towards my set goals.

Redfish Pillar Project

The redfish pillar project (my initiative) in Hive account@redfishpillar, is going to be my first steemit community building project. Modalities are still being worked on before the formal project launch. I understand that there are other projects already doing very well like the minnowsupport project in Hive account@minnowsupport. It would be good for me to have better understanding from the redfish (steemians with less than 1 million vests), themselves where I can come in to assist them. Therefore, the redfish pillar project hopes to complement existing projects.

Steemit Nigeria

Apart from the redfish pillar project, I am also facilitating a steemit Nigeria whatsapp chat group. In that group, we discuss matters that affect us as Nigerians in Steemit and seek for opportunities to grow. The group started about 3 weeks ago with just 2 members. As at today, there are 13 of us in that chat group. We have had 2 virtual meetings on google hangout and I must confess that I've had a wonderful experience in those hangouts. Next hangout will be on Saturday, 15th of July, 2017. Links will be sent out to gmail addresses of members on or before Friday, 14th July,2017. See last update here.
