Well; I have been on Steemit for 6 months now. It is addicting where I want to post everything I think of and see. 2648 posts and following 1664 people. I have 1189 Followers... my goal for the year was to hit 1000; I surpassed that mark 2 months ago. Every month i take the time to follow all those that follow me. Currently I have 45 steem power which I'm not too happy about because I made the mistake of not powering up and sending my SBD to bittrex and using them to buy other coins. I did not understand the importance of powering up until recently.
I have made some mistakes along the way.. and ive found some things that work.
First off; Steemfollower. It works. I used it originally to follow other people in return for receiving followers. They have since shut down that service but it still works for votes... you vote for other people signed up for the service and get 5x the voting power back to your posts. This service has helped me tremendously.
Find your niche market. I post anything from crypto trades, memes, porn, to health sciences. But It pretty much stays within those boundaries so people that follow you - follow you for a reason. They like your material; keep producing it. I found a free banner that looks cool; attached at the bottom. I created my own logo as well.
Resteem and upvote those articles you think have value to you and the community. Be a part of the Steem community and leave insightful comments. You can actually make a great deal of money from leaving great comments. You also earn money by resteeming posts.
I won 89.00 SBD on a contest involving a baseball parlay... within the first week of being on steemit. At the time; SBD was probably .85 cents each. I quickly used it to buy Verge which is my favorite altcoin. In hindsight I wish I had hung on to the SBD because it rose to 12 dollars each before Xmas. If it did it once: it'll do it again. Or I could have powered up with it.
I have switched from earning SBD to 100% power up on all my posts. I would like to give back to those that leave great comments on my posts. It sucks when my vote only accounts for .01 SBD but atleast its something.
My new goal is to get my vote up to .10 SBD...
