Last week was a LONG week. I never (well, rarely) get sick. This past week, however I got this weird flu, and could not shake it. By the time I got to Saturday, it was time for a gig - the show must go on.
I was better by then, but really tired. I knew, however that once I got the guitar in my hands, and got a good dose of adrenaline, I would make it through.
Here is what happened though.
For this gig, I needed a drummer to come in and sub. He was an alumni of my music school, as is my bass player. The gig felt great. He had done his homework, and his pocket was great too (we play funky blues/rock). I was proud to be playing with these guys. Pondering this after the gig, and subsequent loss of adrenaline 😊 I realized something.
Through all the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears of building up my music school, I was in a moment - a moment where I could see the results ...and it was worth it ...well worth it. My staff and I will continue to Spread the Music as long as I have breath.
