Steemit is doing extremely well in the Alexa rankings. At the time of writing Steemit is number 1028 in the global ranking and still rising, I remember that we were celebrating that the 10.000st place was broken not so long ago. This is a very good score! As an owner of multiple websites I am seriously considering to sell my sites and continue my marketing on Steemit. Here my idea for

How I should do it
Today all the Steemit accounts are referred as steemit.com/@username. When you leave the @ out another direction for every imaginable keyword can be created. These directions can be optimized for web design (Wordpress installation for example) and sold to entrepreneurs for Steem. Also the payout system could be changed for these directions (permanently instead of only one week), but actually it is not even needed because the ease to rank is already valuable.
An entire marketplace could be created and will boost demand for Steem
When these domains are sold for a fixed amount of Steem by Steemit first, a secondary market place can be created where popular domains can be traded for higher prices and paid for in Steem of course. The higher the total value of all these domains goes, the more demand for Steem will be realized and the higher the price will go.
What is the advantage for online entrepreneurs?
I think there are many huge advantages for entrepreneurs if they could own a Steemit/keyword domain instead of a regular domain. Firstly there is a huge SEO benefit. When you write good content and optimize it for SEO properly while you are able to benefit from the SEO advantages of Wordpress, it is probably way easier to rank high in Google than when you start with a new domain name on your own hosting.
These domains will also outperform the regular Steemit accounts for SEO, because only the keyword is in the 2nd tier of the URL (no @) and there will be CMS possibilities and this will enable better SEO optimization. So I suspect that they will not really compete with each other.
Beside that an entrepreneur will not have to pay fixed costs (and the annoyance it brings with legacy payment systems) in the form of rent of hosting and domain names and doesn't need to have an identity and residency. This will open up an opportunity for a huge group of people that live and work remote, live in 3rd world counties or simply want more privacy.
What is the advantage for Steemit?
As explained a market place will come into existence and this will increase the demand for Steem and thus the price. Furthermore SEO experts will come to Steemit and will probably increase the authority by Google even more because they increase the quality of the pages overal!
When this plan gets executed, I will be a buyer of steemit.com/keyword domains from day one!
