Steemians its time to talk about ONO.
I heard of this new social network based on the EOS blockchain by time. The first time I heard about ONO was; hmm around a month ago. I didn't give it so much attention.
Again and again, I saw posts about ONO on my feed.
Last week I read one contribution from 
Yesterday I read a post of 
When not Steemit or Dtube there was until now only one more social network I was talking about. You know which one I mean. Appics! Right. By the way, the last ICO round starts soon.
Now ONO now join in too.
This post should not be where I give you a lot of information about that new social network. Because simply I don't know so much about it at this particular moment. I hope really to get some useful information from you guys.
I already started to read the whitepaper, but until now I didn't come so far.
I am trying not to copy the whitepaper but to explain it in my own words.
From what I saw until now its as I mention a social network based on EOS. From the design and functionality, it remembers more to a real social network compared to Steemit.
Let me clarify: Steemit is for me more a blogger site. ONO looks for me more like Facebook. An every moment usable social network.
You can post updates, pictures and your location for example. Later a video function will be added as well.
It is already launched in China. In June the international rollout is planned to be. Below I will link a Dtube video where you can see the application live.
What I found interesting is that you already have an integrated messaging system to chat with other users. Something that lets you connect with other on a deeper basis. I would appreciate seeing this also here on Steemit.
This indeed is also a sensational move in the hype of ICO'S
But why there is no ICO? I can't give you a clear answer. Maybe you have one. I think it has to do with her character and her vision for this social network.
That also means that finances will not determine the power of an account. And that it what Ke Xu(the founder) proclaim: Equality! A daring Statement! Something many people here complain and let me say that I can understand some.
At this point, I don't want to say more about it, because as I mention I don't know so much.
The Big Question.
Well, I do not know to answer this question accurately.
From my current point, I don't see ONO really as a Steemit competitor even it is not built on the same Blockchain.
ONO for me has a different alignment starting that there will be nothing like STEEMPOWER there will be no room for complaining about whales. But also this application as I also said about Appics has to prove itself. But for me, it sounds quite interesting but needs to learn more about that.
Do I see it as a Steemit killer?
Right now, no!
Again the whole space is still in its infancy. But there Steemit has still the First Mover advantage.
We have seen it a lot of times in traditional companies that the First Mover advantage is never a guarantee. And yes, it is exactly like that. It's not a guarantee but it's an advantage if it is played right it could happen that the lead is difficult to catch up.
As I said before both ONO and especially all other applications which are standing in the pipeline needs to prove themselves in the real world. But everything is possible, especially in the crypto space.
I have high respect for the founder and the team for their vision and I'm excited to see where this will lead.
