After being for a quite a while around here, I want to tell you what I have identified as the number one goal every Steemian, Dtuber, Streamer and everyone else in this community should have.
But before I tell you this I have to make some steps back.
I am not a fan of generalization. So what I am telling you counts for sure, not for everyone there are always exceptions. But with confidence, I can say that: You can make money with blogging is one of many proclamation you have probably heard. And that was making you excited. Maybe you never heard of cryptocurrencies before, and you wanted to put all the promises you heard to a test.
Maybe you were unhappy with the centralized social networks, perhaps you were banned, and you were looking for an alternative and found Steemit, but I think most of us got caught by promises as I showed above. And let me tell you this: There is nothing wrong with that. Absolutely not!
In my case, I had to wait about two days to actually start my blog.
You're excited what is possible your dreams are already flying. You see this as the next big thing, and you are there at the right time at the right place. You look at the payouts of the trending page, and you're going crazy.
It doesn't take long for the hard reality punch you like Floyd Mayweather.
You are brutally hit in form of rewards around 0.01 cents. Ok, maybe you have some backbone, and you motivate yourself to put some more effort into it and give the seed time to sprout.
Even after that, you don't see the big rewards you see on the trending page maybe you also don't know about bidbots and much more what is part of that community. You are out of faith, and most of us quit at this point.
Not all of us give up at this point there are of course inspiring examples out in the Steemit ocean. Yes, guys there a some of them. Some people who left in the first place came back after time for a second start. Some were still disappointed others had a great run.
But I can say that most of us are looking at the wrong component.
We all had our way more or less in networks like Facebook, Snapchat, Youtube, Instagram and whatever. Some of us still have, but how it's possible that people spend so much time in such networks without getting any rewards unless you built up a large following and was or able to monetize them decently.
Some people started there social media journey just for fun, and through a particular passion about something, followers came in. It was maybe not your goal in the very beginning. I am sorry I digress.
So what I want to tell you is that the big problem is the visibility of the payouts! This brings people fast in the mood to compare with each other the lack of understanding grows and grows. Why this one, I am much better I have much more knowledge in that area and so on.
If you think right now that I am up to tell you that the rewards should be hidden you are on the wrong track. The problem is not that we see the rewards, the visibility exacerbated your whole perception.
After my time here and learning more and more about the thing and I am still learning, I found that looking purely at the rewards is the wrong way.
I know that we're all different. That we all come from different areas in life which include that we all have different requirements I am aware of that.
I am sure that you figured it out that the whole Steemit game and everything on this STEEM Blockchain is a long-term game. If we have got to this knowledge; the most important aspect should be at an entirely different point, definitely not the reward. And with that the whole journey change. At least in my opinion.
I will tell you what I found as the most critical goal every one of us should have. Strengthen your account!
You know what I mean by that right? Investing in your account in the form of Steempower should be the number one goal for every single one of us.
Ok, I hear you:Ray, not all of us have the possibility to buy a whole lot of STEEM to power it up, and we were not lucky to be here at the very beginning where you earned much more than we do today.
When you think that and that's ok, but I will tell you that in this case, your perception is fuzzy. Believing that only investing a whole lot of money will make a difference to crush the game is misguided. Every single piece you power up today could make in few years a big difference. Now you may be a small minnow, but tomorrow you could be for others a dolphin, orca or a whale. And I am not talking about the technical definition.
When the road will continue to be the right one and improves on that way more people will join, and they will look up to you. You see the dolphins, and whales today, but the game will change. New people could and will also look up to you.
More Steempower will give you more influence in the network, and it has some more benefits as most of you already know like more curation rewards. I would describe the best advantage that way: A more significant distribution possibility. Depending on the STEEM price and we all hope that it will continue to rise and it looks that way, but here I have to add that no one knows the future and no one can make predictions with 100% certainty.
But when it does your vote will weight much more as it does today. Believe me many people, and in the first place, you will appreciate it.
In my opinion, the most important goal should be to grow here in the form of Steempower.
I know that people cash out and convert STEEM the way along to fiat to pay bills and more. And I don't say stop doing it; I would be crazy when I would tell you this.
Which seed I am trying to plant is that: besides the STEEM you need to cash out is to build in the first place a mindset and second a strategy for the goal to strengthen your account.
Yes, I know that it is easier said than done, especially when you don't have money you can afford to invest and that means also perhaps to lose. But there are people continually cashing out, and then it's not a surprise that you can't grow. And then starting complaining about whales is for sure the wrong way. Being now at this moment here is can be not will be; the most significant advantage in life. Sounds drastic I know but it could really be.
In the next one, I will address a possible way how to strengthen your account which is inspired by some contributions I read here.
