Sometime today my reputation score will rise to 60 on steemit. It is already showing at 60 on steemdb but it hasn’t made it to steemit as I write this post.
Up on the roof in Lisbon.
It has been a long time coming and what it means I have no clue. Is it a sign of progress, a mark of some kind of accomplishment? I have no idea. Will I start to make better content or will I suddenly become the font of all knowledge about the steemit system?
Ned and Dan co-founders of steemit.
All questions with few answers. This has been a constant since I first posted on steemit.
It all seems like a lifetime ago. 6 months in crypto is a lifetime. One of the main attractions of steemit for me is the constant discovery. Steemit is a great game and a great challenge. Thanks and
it's a lot of fun
I have learned quite a lot since joining steemit about crypto currencies and the fact that absolutely no one has any clue about whether one coin will be more successful over another.
I know that some tokens have certain assets that make them more useful in terms of speed and scale-ability but this is useless unless more people know about the advantages of one token over another.

I have been on steemit since late June 2017 and have posted more or less every day. The first post made $0.80 cents and this was the pattern for a few weeks then one day one of my posts was upvoted by a group of people that I had never met. They left no comments but their upvotes on that post earned over $100.
This, I later learned was what is known as a ‘circle jerk’. Yes, I now know it has a sexual connotation as well. But hey! I’m from England. We don’t have those expressions at least in the circles that I move in.
Within a few months of me joining Steemit I heard about Steemfest2 and that people from the platform would be meeting up in Portugal.
I decided that I must go and meet some of these steemians and try to find some answers to the many questions that I had.
What I found were a lot of people who were totally out there and interesting.
Everyone was super helpful and shared their ideas and plans for the steem block chain.
All the questions I had drifted away and I just had a great time chatting with some of the most interesting people I have ever met.
Here are a few posts to give you a feel for steemfest.
Off to Lisbon
The journey begins
Steemfest meet and greet
New ideas
@jerrybanfield comedy
I came back from steemfest and had a few more meet-ups with other steemians in the UK and done a little promotion work with and
.
Not sure how effective I was but it was a great laugh and I met and many others in London.
Some notable people that stood out for me in the last six months. Starting with the crazy guy that introduced me to steemit.
Check out their blogs and you will see a wide range of people with varied interests.
From and old guy who likes to take photos to a full-on published author to a top-flight food vlogger. I’ll leave you to discover them for yourselves.
The first six months have been fascinating and I’m looking forward to the next steemfest3 and the future development of steem and the many various platforms that we have here in development.
I enjoy blogging, vlogging and photography and hopefully I am improving my content.
I intend to do more in terms of software development for the steem ecosystem and will be working on Utopian to create some useful apps.
One of my favorite photos from steemfest2.
Getting back into coding is something that I have been meaning to do for some time and in the coming year I will focus more on app development and making Dtube videos. Which I love doing. Time permitting. Making videos is very time consuming.
Maybe I’ll do some tutorials now that I know a little bit more, than when I started.
One of the things I love about steemit is that I learn something new every day.
It is without doubt the most innovative and rewarding platform out there
Thanks for reading and have a great year. Follow me Michael
