Whoop whoop the money is real
I've got to admit, when I first started posting on Steemit I wasn't sure what to make of it. I persisted because if there was an opportunity to make good money blogging and I missed it, I'd have kicked myself. Also I was pleasantly surprised at all the nice comments people left on my blog posts.
As I've written previously in a comment
Most of my posts are about pregnancy and parenting and so I was a bit doubtful at first about whether anyone on Steemit would bother reading all the way through them! It did seem like a male dominated platform (and still does). However, I've been pleasantly surprised with some of the comments I've received from men who have read my posts. The whole point of something like Steemit is that people are sharing their personal views or areas of expertise. It doesn't mean they only want to read things similar to what they have shared. It's nice to be exposed to different personalities and view points.
I've never received this kind of money for my blog before, and even though getting the money out was 'challenging'... I didn't do it myself, I needed help... it's worth it, seeing as I've just seen a designer baby changing bag that I like!
Pioneer... moi?
Someone said I was a "pioneer" when I posted the very first # introduceyourself, now I see how many people are using the tag, I almost feel like one! It's crazy how thing grow and it's great to see so many different people with different idea, backgrounds and beliefs introducing themselves to this community.
So what next?
I've decided that I will upload any new blog posts directly to Steemit and not to my website. I'll create a 'teaser' posts on my site that will encourage people that visit there to come to Steemit to view, comment and upvote my stuff. I will publicise my Steemit posts to my friends and readers on my Facebook as I did my blog posts.
I'll keep doing me and posting about pregnancy and parenting. Hopefully I can keep those who read my stuff now engaged and attract new followers. I'll try to keep posting (and voting!) as much as I can. However with the baby due to arrive next month, I may slow down a little.
Really happy I found this place. You've converted me! I'll keep you posted.
