Okay, it's great that you're getting the message out. However it's important to set expectations at the right level.
(1) 25% of rewards go to voters not 50%
(2) Newbies with little SP will not make much (if any money) by upvoting
Join and you can earn $20 in SP through one vote, by voting early.
This is virtually impossible for someone who only has $7 worth of STEEM.
I've touched on this in previous posts. It would take months to turn $7 to $20 by voting alone.
There is no need to hard sell Steemit. The proposition is a simple one, your viewers can do what they are currently doing on YouTube (commenting, liking, posting response videos etc), however (unlike YouTube, Twitter, Facebook etc) they get an opportunity to share in the rewards and success of the platform. Also well as rewarding you for providing great content.
They can also earn rewards if they post content that people enjoy and upvote. However the rewards that a low SP holder can get by purely upvoting are so small that it isn't really a selling point.... If they gain more SP then that's a different story.
If your viewers fully engage with the platform, post, vote, comment, contribute... then yes they could reap greater rewards. However just being part of a community that rewards content owners directly and stimulates great conversation should be plenty to encourage people to get on board.
