Hey Steemit,
As of this writing, the price of SBD is $1.95. Still very much over the $1 it is supposed to be. But I'm always thinking, and here is another idea that might help create those Steem Dollars that are so much in demand.
We should add an option to specify a 75% SBD/ 25% SP payout.
Current Options
- Power up 100%
- Default 50%/50%
- Decline Payout
New Options
- Power up 100%
- Default 50%/50%
- 75% SBD / 25% SP <----------- New!
- Decline Payout
Yes, this option will do exactly what you think. Your post payout will be 75% in steem dollars and only 25% in Steem power.
Of course, this is just a suggestion to the system, you might not get 75% /25%. If the price of Steem falls, and the SBD print rate goes down, then you might only get 50/50 anyway, or even no Steem dollars if the price sinks and the print rate goes to 0. This is also true with the Default option. (It already seems like ages ago that this happened.)
This would require a hardfork of course, but worth considering. What do you think Steemit?
