If you live outside of NYC, you should know that what occurred yesterday was something truly fascinating to witness...
It was the unveiling of Steem Park. And it was surreal as f*ck.
and
, two architects and active Steemit members,
were able to leverage the power of the Steem for a city project.
They crowdsourced the funds needed to build a Steem branded installation inside Herbert Von King Park, Brooklyn NY -
simply by blogging on Steemit!
And here's a secret…
YOU, Steemit community, also just BUILT A PARK in Brooklyn... thanks to your engagement and support on the project.
Let that sink in…
Steemit users from all walks of life, in all different countries-
just created an actual park in Brooklyn together.
What's even crazier?
collaborated with the park’s conservatory team, who know NOTHING about crypto.
For the first time ever...
an offline community ( completely unfamiliar with crypto)
was introduced to the power of Steem.
This did two giant things for our reputation. It proved that:
Partners and collaborators don't need to fully understand the blockchain to enjoy the benefits of Steem.
And…
It removed the conception that crypto is only associated with anonymity and secrecy.
In other words, everyday people can use Steem to better their everyday lives-
and that can result in beautiful collaborations that bring online and offline communities together!
The Reveal Of A New & Improved Direction
About a month ago I revealed my major plan for a platform collaboration.
And to be honest, I had to make a major tweak...
We’re still building the same platform for the same audience,
But the value we're now offering is ten times better.
You see, with the Steem blockchain,
we have the power to solve real world problems, and totally revolutionize industries.
We can actually change people's lives.
and
just proved this.
So I realized I can do so much more. And I have to do more...
I had to think bigger.
So hang tight. I'm thrilled to share the big update this Wednesday.
But guess who else has big ideas?
I met at Steem Park yesterday.
He works in advertising for a major publishing company-
and he also plans to bring disruptive blockchain solutions into his world!
Not to mention that Steemit Community Liason, @Andrarchy, lives right here in New York City too!
In fact, he's the best person to offer strategy and support for local innovators who want to work with Steem.
It’s clear to me that New York will become the birthplace of some of Steem’s greatest expansions.
So why waste a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change the world on small thinking? My aim should be to make as big an impact as possible. And the ever growing NYC Steemit squad feels the same way.
NYC is doing big things, what are you guys doing with Steem in your City??
