So I was reading recently that it is simple to get an account through reddit verification because it only requires one upvote on said account. What measures are there in place to stop a user from numerous accounts on reddit and getting a single upvote, and then coming on here and creating a large quantity of accounts and manipulating the economic environment?
The highest post yesterday which earned the user $6k, had only 500 votes. It seems like it would be beneficial for scammers to put in maybe a solid 5 hours of account creation bullshit to get large payouts like such. All they would have to do is upvote their own post with their accounts and rake in the money. I assume that steemit has some sort of IP address filter; however, just paying a couple dollars a month can help a user bypass it.
Can someone explain to me in the comments what security measures are in place to prevent such from happening?
