Hello Steemians!
In the era of big data, Google has proven they are not the best company to trust. They have already admitted to exposing well over 50 million users data from a "bug" in their failed social media platform, Google+.
To make matters worse, many users had a Google+ account only due to being forced to have one de facto to comment and upload to Youtube. A few years back, Google mandated that all Youtube accounts be attached to a Google+ account. Steemit should acknowledge such and default the search feature to a DuckDuckGo search.
For those unfamiliar, DuckDuckGo (DDG) is an Internet search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results. They do not care about user data nor make it marketable or accessible to third parties.
