When I was a sophomore in the university I lacked consistency in studying I pick up my books at the beginning of the semester and become serious with them, I will study for hours thinking I would be able to establish a new habit with hard work and great time but this didn't work
UNTIL I CAME ACROSS THE ONE MINUTE PRINCIPLE
The one minute principle by masaaki imai at first seemed so ineffective and too simple for it to establish a new habit and building consistency
Masaaki imai named this principle KAIZEN
THE IDEA
KAIZEN is built on the idea of accomplishing a task through a series of small steps we have all come to believe just like me that accomplishing big goals needs big changes and hard work when in reality it requires a series of small changes to accomplish a big goal
APPLICATION
Set a timer for one minute take note of the the exact time you're starting carry out your work within one minute make sure you do this at the exact time everyday
This gives you a sense of joy and victory over the giant called INCONSISTENCY which will want you to increase the time and keep being consistent
EXAMPLE
You have a textbook to read
-set your timer (one minute)
-take note of the exact time you started
-read the text book for one minute
-do this every day until you feel the need to increase the time
START VERY SMALL
Don't forget to follow me and also feel free to comment which aspect of your life you're going to apply this principle
Thanks for reading
